I haven't been able to do any "daily outfit" posts for a while because of the rain and snow, but I managed to snap a few photos this morning! It is the first day that the sun has come out in ages, and as a result, the incredible Mists were rising in the meadow. Here I am on my soggy porch in one of my favorite dresses:
The underskirt is a brown prairie skirt that matches just enough in my opinion, and it makes everything flare out in a doll-like fashion. The hair bow is a piece of long black lace that I thrifted last week, and I just realized it makes a fab 1985-style headpiece! Look for this one to show up in many photos to come.
The porch just ain't very romantic, so I traipsed down the meadow hoping to capture some of the magic mist-light. Photos taken in the morning are very hard to get right, but I think this one expresses the spirit of the outfit:
Dealing with winter lately has been very un-fairytale-like (well, unless you are talking about the scary parts in The Hobbit, which I am re-reading this week) and non-glamorous, so I have been upping the ante at work: yesterday I wore a gold outfit that would normally be reserved for a Saturday night dance-a-thon, and today this, more of a typical "weekend" dress. You can't see my makeup but cat-eyes in black kohl are a very important part of making myself feel better about the muddy, freezing reality of the Siera Foothills. Give them a try-- they can brighten your whole day!

I love that dress and the skirt under it is perfect!

ugh...sasha...i'm having the same problem. it's nearly impossible to spend ANY time outside. so in that case, hooray sun today and your mini celebration of morning photos, they are gorgeous. i love the way you can revive your spirits with your adornments...that's exactly what they should do!

Oh, I am useless when it comes to eye-makeup but hey, the sun actually came out a little while ago here and it really is amazing how it can just perk up your mood.
I love the sheerness of that dress and it really is perfect layered over the skirt :)
