From the sketchbook lately...
If you can believe it, we are in the middle of yet another huge snowstorm, so it's still all about indoor activities. Today Chris and I are going to work on some music for the upcoming debut show of our new project, The Horoscopes. On the acorn jewelry front, I took my friend Automne's advice and I am making up two pairs of small acorn top earrings with gorgeous faceted light blue/aquamarine chalcedony stones.
The moon is particularly close to the earth this weekend (it should appear even more full and large than usual, if you can see it- I don't know if we're going to be able to because of the cloud cover). Many people who are into non-mainstream science say this is going to increase tidal and seismic activity. Frankly, I think we could all do without any more seismic activity for the time being.... argh. Words cannot express my feelings about the tragedies in Japan. We are having a particularly tight moment in the budget, but we managed to donate some money to the Red Cross. I hope that any of you who are able can do the same, or help in some other way. And those of you on the West Coast... I know we are all feeling a collective sigh of relief that no significant radiation has been detected here. Honestly my nervous system was not having a good time with the idea of getting radiated... it was like a bad trip back to the 1980s (the 80s was not all legwarmers and synthesizers, unfortunately- it was also Chernobyl.) We ate some seaweed and I tried to get some extra rest, just to make sure my immune system was running at top speed. I hope you all are taking care of yourselves as well; it is not an exaggeration to say that global stress was at an all-time high last week. Come to find out, it's a small planet after all.
Hope you all are having a sweet and peaceful weekend.

Indeed it is.
Yes, I donated some money too, and felt like a real grown up and conscientious citizen of the world for choosing to allocate that money for that purpose (as we, too, are in a particularly tight place).
Glad you're posting more sketches, and look forward to seeing the earrings!

I hope we've turned a corner. It's spring now after all. Peaceful, lovely week! Oh and hope no more snowstorms come your way.
