I have to thank Rachel at Mousevox Vintage for introducing me to an amazing toy-- a (free!) program called "Poladroid" that creates fake digital "Polaroids" out of your pictures! I don't have any photo editing software, besides basic i-photo, and I've been craving some new tools. This is so perfect, since, in my opinion, nothing rivals the look of a Polaroid picture. You can grab the picture at any point in its development- check out how cool the "underdeveloped" ones look. And hey, if any of you know any other free photo editing programs, please share the links with me, cause I love to play around with color and texture.
(Both of these gorgeous dresses are in the shop, by the way!)
I love the dreamy, aged look of the polaroids. I knew of the Poladroid but for some reason I've never actually tried it... must remedy that asap!
One free editing software I found last year is Photoscape - http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php - it's not as comprehensive as Photoshop, but it has some nice film'y and antique'y filters!

oooh very cool. i've been playing around with a polaroid app for my phone this week and love it, and was wondering if there was something for home.

And I'm back... I forgot Gimp - http://www.gimp.org/ - mostly because I don't use it because I have Photoshop, but I've heard only good things about it. It's supposedly just as good as Photoshop, except it's free! (I only have Photoshop thanks to my father, definitely couldn't afford it myself...)

These are so stunning darling - they have such an ethereal, magical quality to them - they make me really happy :D
I'm going to have to investigate this Polaroid option - though the link you have provided isn't working :"(
