Going to run some errands around town on the first lovely warm day in ages... no jacket or a cardigan needed!
Outfit: all thrifted/ Naked Lady party scores except for the hat, which was a gift from my bestie back in college (the kind of object of power that is handed from person to person!) and the lapis lazuli necklace, which was a gift from the Sugar Troll:
Going record shopping with the Sugar Troll...
NaNa Poleclimber boots: thrifted (brand new!); Rasputins Record Store t-shirt: a hand-me-down from my friend Angela from when she used to work there; 50s beaded cardigan: thrifted; blue velvet Stetson hat: thrifted; Sugar Troll's polka dot hoodie: American Apparel
I am notorious for slacking on "personal style" photos for this blog- forgive me, I don't have a camera phone!- but lately a number of friends sent me these photos of myself out and about at various events:
New Year's Eve, with Bluebird and Leonna
At a wedding reception, inside a really cool, really old Oddfellow's Hall in downtown Grass Valley (thank you Automne for gifting me this amazing blue velvet 60s minidress!)
Another wedding- it's unseasonably cold out (this photo was taken in the summer, but I just got it), so I had to bundle up in my giant coat! Standing with me is my hubby and the internationally known author/herbalist Kathi Keville.
St. Patrick's Day, toasting my ancestors with the help of a little whiskey and my pal Bluebird
Dancing in the streets of Nevada City with the crew of Lasher Keen and Faun Fables- this is us trying to decide where to eat. (We went with Thai- a good choice!)
(What the heck- how about some outfit posts?)
Going out record/thrift shopping:
Top: 1970s, thrifted
Jeans: my fave old beat up Juicy brand jeans
Shoes: 1970s, thrifted, on their last legs but soooo beloved
Hat: 1970s, stolen from my husband
(Sometimes I have to put on jeans just to prove to myself that I CAN dress casually)

Going out to run errands on a cold day:
Belt: pilfered from my own Etsy shop- you snooze you lose!
Belt: my mom's, from the 80s
Boots: new, from a Naked Lady clothing swap party
Earrings: handmade
Hair: a huge thanks to my best ever hairdresser, Susan at Trend Cuts in Grass Valley, for whippnig my hair into shape last week, for not scolding me for letting it go for waaaaaay too long, and for giving me these awesome feathery side pieces so my updo looks fancy:
Happy Dressing Up! xoxo
Today me and Chris went up the hill to do some photos of the guitars that he's listing in his Etsy shop, Cosmic Yardsale. Here are some of my favorites:
This one is called The Stickermobile. It plays great!
Time to rock:
This one is called the Feathercaster- it looks good and sounds awesome! The feathers were done by a good friend of ours. Electronics upgraded by Chris.
My dress is from Jessica at Brightest Star- it's one of my favorite pieces in my closet! Sparrrkley...
My favorite part of this photo shoot was my headpiece, which I threw together right before we walked up the hill. Thanks to Sadie Rose from Lost Boys and Lovers for gifting me this vintage mesh bow that served as the base!
Rock on, my friends!
Going out to run some errands...
This wool sweater dress is 1960s vintage, made in France. To me it looks like a Cure album cover from the 80s. The hat is my ultimate comfort/cozy standby- it's my favorite type of winter hat: extra slouchy, with a criss-cross-applesauce pattern, and of course a pom pom.
These suede-type boots were originally yellow but I tie-dyed them black, which ended up grey.
I love vintage gloves but I hate taking gloves on and off, so I made these fingerless. This feather "fascinator" ring is from my friend Winter. I love talking with this ring on and waving my hands around.
You can read about Winter's crafting adventures on her blog here.
