I think that the vintage community on Etsy is so lucky to have you here, not just because you are such a warm, outgoing person, but because you are improving the aesthetics of online shopping with your artful photographs and your carefully curated vintage pieces. What inspired you to start an Etsy shop? Who are some of your favorite Etsy sellers?
First , thanks so much! I have to shout out to Max, my boyfriend as he takes most of the photos as well as out friend Hagen Caldwell, I just do the styling and pose hahaha As for the inspiration to have a shop, you inspired me! haha It's true!! I had and still have another shop called Semina Filligree where I was selling my art work and knitted goods and then I met the beautiful and wonderful Miss Sasha and thought, that is so cool what she is doing!...I thrift non stop and well... hahaha I think I could do a little shop myself maybe and here I am and loving it! I can't believe this is my job now!!! I do this for fun!!!

Geez, there are soooo many really...I have quite a few art shops as well that I love! I am so busy with my own shop right now I don't get to browse as much anymore but I am always looking for the unique piece of jewelry or accessory and artist...so turn me on people out there! hahaha I am serious!
And I also have to say, Etsy sellers are some of the nicest people ever!! I am so proud to be an Etsy-ian and be part of this wonderful online community.
I love your blog... it is one of the most beautiful, inspiring fashion blogs that I have seen. What made you start a blog? What do you like about the blog community? Could you tell us some of your favorite blogs?
Thank so much! I had been toying with the idea of starting a blog for awhile, mainly to share some of my writing and art and then when I decided to do this Etsy shop, it just seemed like the natural thing to do. I actually wish I had more time for it! I have soooo many ideas to get to! But with the Shop stuff as well as I am in the process of finishing my second album, I do need some sleep hahaha but I am about to start a series called Inspirational Woman (get ready for some questions yourself) and I am starting with one of my closest friends, Carmen Hawk who has tremendous style and another one of us Renaissance gals who is a photographer, fashion designer and painter, so look for that one, it is going to be beautiful. I don't have a huge connection to the blogging community as of right now as I just got started but I think it is a wonderful phenomenon that is both inspiring and connective. and cannot wait to meet and connect with more people. My fav blogs are probably:

I have more but you can check them out on my blog~
Your style inspiration seems endless.... from the moment I first spied you at the Joanna Newsom concert in Nevada City, I thought "that's the best-dressed girl I have ever seen!". Everything that you do is so artful, yet still retains a sense of play. where do you get your ideas? Who are some of your (classic) style icons? Is there anyone in modern popular culture whose dress sense you particularly admire?
Wow! Thanks so much again!!
I suppose a lot of my ideas come from the Air, by that I mean that I daydream a lot and things just come to me. With that in mind, I get a lot of inspiration from music and always have , as well as paintings~ I think being an actress from the age of 11 to 34 also created in me a need to play new characters all the time, so every day it is kinda like that...who do I feel like today? Stories and novels also play a big part as they inspire these characters.
Geez, I have so many style icons hahahaha I suppose the top ones are Annie Hall, Nikki de Saint Phalle, Nina Hagen, Marianne Faithfull, Early Norma Jean/Marilyn, Candy Darling, Toulouse Lautrec women, Carole Lombard, Paul Simonon of the Clash Myrna Loy in the Thin Man movies, Exene, Siouxsie, Rosalind Russell as Mame, Mary Vivian Pierce in the early John Waters films, Ossie Clark, Coco Chanel, Nico, Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Maya Deren, The Slits, David Bowie, and it just goes on and on~
In popular culture right now the first that come to mind are Bjork, Joanna Newsom, Irina Lazareanu, Peaches and Nick Cave!
I also really love kid's style...as in, when they dress themselves...they come up with truly inspiring and amazing outfits when parents are not in charge hahaha
You are a total Renaissance girl... your incredible clothing is just the tip of the iceberg! Could you tell my readers a little about your musical side?
I make music right now under an alter ego named Ic Explura and the band is called The Diary of Ic Explura. It is all based on a pictorial story book I wrote and designed about a girl who travels through dimensions. I put out my first album called A Love Letter to the Transformer in 2006 on a french digital label and it is Part ! and covers the first half of the story in the book. At the moment I am currently finishing up recording Part 2 which covers the second half of the story. I will be putting it all out digitally together and I am also hoping to get it out on Vinyl as well. I also did sing on two songs on my ex boyfriend, John Frusciante's first solo album Niandra La Des. My boyfriend Max and I make music together as well, he is playing on a lot of my new album and I have played on some of his stuff. We are trying to get something going together as well as out personal projects.
As for film, I made a film during the Niandra La Des recordings that is a little black and white artsy film of which a still from it is the cover of that album. I am finally about to release it for sale online very soon hopefully! Yay! I am also currently working on a film to go with the Ic Explura music which is just ongoing and I hope to finish by the end of the year.
Here is the link to my music...you can also get it on itunes and a few other online music stores~

You recently moved to Boulder, Colorado... could you tell me a little about what it's like to live in the Rockies?
I adore it here!!! It is so absolutely beautiful!! The weather has been very strange though lately hahaha very humid and wet which is not Boulder this time of year at all...more like dry and hot! hahaha It sunshines a lot which makes me happy but we also get those stormy days of inspiration where it thunders and lightnings really loud and you just wanna stay in and draw or read. The culture in Boulder is interesting, a cross between old hippies, buddhist, lots of musicians, and yuppies I suppose. I think it used to be even more weird and artsy from what Max tells me but it is so beautiful here a lot of people with a lot of money have moved here and driven the cost of living up so a lot of the old school Boulderites have moved to little neighboring mountain towns, which I would like to do one day as well. As for my own environment, I live with my boyfriend, Max and our cat Kiki Pamplemousse Fontaine in an old brick and wood house that needs a lot of work but that's why we are here hahaha and we have a big barn to paint in, a music studio in the basement and a huge garden this year. We are growing tons of stuff and it is booming already...corn, beets, chard, kale, three different squash, snap peas, Kentucky wonder beans, lettuce, spinach, carrots, garlic, onions, broccoli! We also have an herb garden with edible and medicinal herbs such as basil, tarragon, dill, fennel, oregano, mint, parsley, cilantro, valerian, mugwort, echinacea, arnica, lavender, rosemary, calendula flower and many more. We are lucky and so appreciative of our situation.
You and your hunny Max always have the best music playing at your house- what is spinning on the turntable this summer?
I just went up and looked by the stereo what has been playing in the last couple of days: Scott Walker and The Walker Brothers pretty much everything, lots of Jamaican Music as always and especially in summer, Joanna Newsom's latest "Have One On Me", Nina Hagen's early stuff, Tom Waits "The Black Rider", Roxy Music "Siren", 1950s Doo Wop, Pj Harvey and John Parish "A Lady a Man Walked By" and mixed Cd's and tapes from friends.
Check out Moonchild Vintage on Etsy, and be sure to peep Toni's blog! I know that you all are going to be her biggest fans! A big thanks to Toni for doing this interview, Rock on, vintage sister!
